How often do you wash your hair?
Sorry if that question seems a little out of left field…I know there are more pressing issues happening in the world right now (I mean, just look at Rod Rosenstein’s un-blinking dead gaze.) But I’m curious- do you wash your hair every day? Every other day? Once a week?
How you care for your lovely tresses is personal and specific to you –depending on your hair type, your lifestyle, and your preferences. At this point in my life, I’m about an every-three-days kind of gal with the help of a few tricks. Washing your hair feels simultaneously mundane and luxurious, wholly routine and still somehow indulgent. All that time, all of those products. And for all the mamas reading, can I get a high five for the block of alone time? Sometimes it feels downright extravagant.
For the other days, however, I bust out a few tricks to keep from looking like a total mess. They are quick and easy, because who has time to fix your hair every. single. day?
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day dry shampoo – everyone has their favorite…this is mine! I bought it after following them on social media and snagging a sale bundle. It smells nice, but not too strong (which is my beef with the cheaper versions) and it works to keep the oil absorbed. Just a little spray at the roots, wait a sec, and then tousle ya mane. Good to go.
Hats! Revolutionary, right? But I’d be lying if I didn’t include them in my dirty-hair list. I love ’em! Always have. Here are a few of my favs: can’t go wrong with a classy fedora, or this great Tennessee baseball hat, or what about this amazing shell-encrusted straw beaut? Endless possibilities for camouflaging those next-day (or third day, or fourth) hairs.
My most recent love– this clip from Target. I’m also growing my bangs out right now (I think that’s what happening, anyways) and this clip has been handy to kind of sweep my longish bangs to the side and pin back. Photographic evidence:
