Politics & Culture
- Project Veritas exposes the philosophy of the Bernie campaign and why they want “free” education for everyone (and it ain’t pretty.)
“There’s a reason Joseph Stalin had gulags, right?”
- Walter Russell Mead on why America is a beacon of liberty to the rest of the world—
“In Iran itself, where authorities hoped the American killing of Qasem Soleimani would unite ordinary Iranians behind the regime, the opposite has come to pass. Waves of antigovernment protests spread across the country as authorities first launched an awkward and unconvincing effort to cover up Iran’s shooting down a Ukrainian passenger jet—killing 176 people—then tardily admitted it. Cities all over Iran witnessed spontaneous demonstrations with crowds chanting, “America is not our enemy,” ripping down posters of Soleimani, and calling for death to the supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.”
- Chelsea explains Why the Results of the Taiwan Elections Matter
“Taiwan has no restrictions on religion, while in China churches are required to register and are under CCP’s watchful eye.”
Beauty & Style
I wear jeans a lot…like, most days. Because I get so much wear out of one pair, I prefer spending a little bit more on my jeans. I like a thicker quality blue jean fabric (which tends to be at least $50+) and many of the high street brands use a blend of fabrics (which might be great if you like a lot of stretch! Just not my cup of tea.) I happened to luck out on an Old Navy pair recently that had all the things that I like in a pair of blue jeans: that stiff quality of fabric, high-waisted, and still really comfortable. These (below) are a great light wash (perfect for spring!) and are on sale right now. Also, I included the fun teddy bear zipper jacket (with pockets) that I got for Christmas and wear on chilly days over a t-shirt or button down.
If you missed it from earlier this week, I wrote on the seasons of life when God feels silent…
Hope y’all have a good weekend!
